- 2 cups celery, chopped
- 1 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 2 loaves white bread, slightly dry, cubed
- 2 8oz. cans sliced mushrooms, drained
- 4 eggs
- 2-3 cans chicken broth
- 3 teaspoons poultry seasoning
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 - 3 teaspoons sage
Directions:
- Melt butter in skillet and saute onion, celery, and mushrooms.
- Pour over bread cubes in a a very large mixing bowl.
- Add all seasonings and toss together well.
- Pour in enough broth to moisten.
- Add beaten eggs and mix together well.
- Pack lightly into Crockpot. Cover and set to high for 45 minutes.
- Reduce to low and cook for 4 to 8 hours.
